Urgent needs to establish a reliable vaccination system!
While it was urgently needed to establish a vaccination system, there were a number of issues to be addressed, such as vehicle arrangements, temperature control for vaccines during transportation, and constraints on the transportation time from the storage locations. When vaccine storage and handling was entrusted to Sagawa Global Logistics (SGL), we developed a framework for the stable arrangement and dispatch of chartered vehicles exclusively for delivering vaccines to vaccination sites, and proposed a solution.
Problem
Amid many uncertainties about when vaccines would be available and where to set up vaccination sites, it was necessary to establish a vaccination system.
Solution
We proposed a smooth, continuous, and stable transportation flow to deliver vaccines from storage locations to vaccination sites within three hours through our TMS transportation network.
Achievements
A system we have created allows regular vaccine distribution to vaccination sites in dedicated cold storage boxes that maintain temperature control. The system also ensures traceability.
