Policy for the Management and Education of Business Partners

As an organization supported by more than approximately 20,000 partner companies (as of March 2020), the sustainability of these companies is one business challenge facing the SG Holdings Group. To ensure that we can flourish alongside our business partners (suppliers), in 2014 we formulated the SG Holdings Group Business Partner CSR Guidelines to showcase our approach to CSR and procurement. Through these guidelines, we seek understanding and cooperation from our business partners (suppliers) on the following seven points.

Business Partner CSR Guidelines

1.Legal compliance

We will strictly comply with domestic and foreign laws, and carry out fair and impartial business activities based on corporate ethics.

2.Maintenance and improvement of safety and security

We will consider safety and security to be our highest-priority issues. We will make every effort to maintain and improve safety together with our business partners.

3.Consideration for human rights and work environments

We will respect basic human rights and ensure a safe and sanitary work environment. We will also strictly comply with any applicable regional laws.

4.Fair trade transactions

We will carry out contact with our business partners with an attitude of sincerity, and provide opportunities for free and fair competition. We will strive for co-existence and mutual prosperity with our business partners by building proper relationships of trust.

5.Consideration for the global environment

We will take measures to prevent global warming and air pollution, and promote business activities with consideration for the global environment.

6.Preservation of information security

We will carry out strict management of confidential information and personal information related to our business activities, and take steps to prevent acts such as information leakage, theft, and manipulation.

7.Coexistence with local communities

We will aid in the development of domestic and overseas regional communities, and strive for co-existence with society together with our business partners.

Business Partner Management Rules

At Sagawa Express, we have established the Business Partner Management Rules and conducts business in a way that is appropriate for both business partners (suppliers) and the Group. The Business Partner Management Rules stipulate matters related to the selection, evaluation, and management of business partners, and the Business Partner Selection Committee performs selection based on these to commence business once the business partners have agreed with the Group's policy.

Further, our policy also includes performing periodic evaluations of existing business partners, jointly resolving any issues, and reviewing business with them if necessary.

Business Partner Management and Education System

At Sagawa Express, we entrust all our procurement activities to Sagawa Advance Co., Ltd., be it for gasoline and other fuel we use together with other SG Holdings Group companies, or other materials. Meanwhile, each Group company is responsible for the procurement of the materials they use, as well as the management of their logistics partner companies. In this way, we ensure efficient management of both Groupwide suppliers and each Group company's suppliers.

Business Partner Management and Education Initiatives

Management

The SG Holdings Group has formulated the Business Partner CSR Guidelines, and is working to raise awareness of the guidelines among its business partners. Following CSR management interviews related to domestic business partners in FY2018, it was found that only some of our Group companies are distributing and utilizing the CSR Guidelines. We also realized that the content of the guidelines must be periodically reviewed in order to thoroughly respond to contemporary social demands. We will continue to tackle the above two challenges moving forward.

Further, we have also established the Business Partner Selection Committee, aiming to prevent dealings with anti-social forces and confirm the credibility of our business partners. In the future, we hope to incorporate sustainability perspectives into this system.

Education

At Sagawa Express, to eliminate traffic accidents from society, we conduct safety patrols, seminars, and various other initiatives for long-haul transportation companies, who are our main business partners (suppliers).

Long-haul Transport Safety Patrols To prevent vehicle breakdowns and traffic accidents among long-haul drivers in advance, we carry out Sagawa Express Long-haul Transport Safety Patrols once a year. Through midway roll calls and vehicle inspections at service areas and parking areas of Japan's major highways, the aim is to raise awareness of the importance of preventing vehicle accidents and breakdowns in advance.
