To protect the lives of children and ensure that as many children can avoid dangerous situations as possible, we host Sagawa Express Traffic Safety Classes to teach children the importance of abiding by traffic safety rules.
Sagawa Express Traffic Safety Classes to Protect Children's Safety
Although we previously hosted children's traffic safety classes in each region, in FY2003 we began full-scale, nationwide roll out of Sagawa Express Traffic Safety Classes, mainly for children in kindergarten and the lower grades of elementary school.
Young children who are still developing both physically and mentally are brimming with curiosity. On the other hand, they can lack attentiveness and understanding of traffic rules, and on occasion can act unexpectedly. With a strong desire to protect the children of our future from disastrous accidents, in FY2019 we held Sagawa Express Traffic Safety Classes 607 times and welcomed a total of 61,122 participants.
These traffic safety classes have been created with the child's perspective in mind, and use real Sagawa trucks and costumed characters to ensure the content is easy to follow. The classes have earned high praise from educational organizations, PTAs, and police officials.
Moreover, these classes are not hosted by special staff, but by actual Sagawa drivers and employees from the sales offices in those regions.
By having as many employees as possible participate and interact with these children, the aim is to increase awareness of the importance of safety.
- Due to the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, since FY2020 we have suspended the Sagawa Express Traffic Safety Classes.
A Present from Our Students
At our East Fukuoka Sales Office, we hosted a Sagawa Express Traffic Safety Class for local children. The traffic safety class enabled us to further our interaction with locals from the region. Some days after the class, we received a handmade calendar from the students which is helping to increase safety awareness among our employees.
